Posted February 16, 2019 05:51:48Microsoft’s Windows operating system will no long be available to end-users, according to a new report by Reuters.
The news comes as Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 operating system, codenamed “Surface.”
The new version of Windows 10 will also include a new Microsoft Edge browser and new Cortana voice search feature.
The Reuters report was based on a recent meeting Microsoft held with industry executives in Redmond, Washington, where it said Microsoft will no-longer sell its Windows software to end customers, after a new operating system was released.
The new operating systems are expected to be released sometime in the first half of 2020, according a Microsoft spokesperson.
Microsoft has been working on the new operating software since April.
Reuters has also reported that Microsoft has also decided to make a significant effort to increase the number of apps and services it will support in Windows 10.
This will allow more developers to focus on creating more applications for Windows, and will allow Microsoft to offer additional features like online sharing and other online functionality.
